The Big Bang Theory

Season 7 Bloopers-

Season 8- Episodes 1&2

After waiting all summer for the new season of The Big Bang Theory I am so glad it is back! September is a great month, because shows generally come off hiatus from the summer, so even though I have new priorities, e.g. university, I am still going to be avidly watching the old shows that have made their way back to the screen

I am merging episode 1&2 together, so I won't specify which bit was from what (spoilers), and partly because even though I have just finished watching it I probably wouldn't remember which one it was anyway.

I was impressed at the amount of times I laughed out loud, I think if a show can make you physically laugh, not just a little giggle then its awesome. I felt all the characters had their own allotted time, which was used to show what they had been doing the past summer, and it also allowed them to explore issues that will be reoccurring in the future episodes.

Howard and Sheldon- I liked how we could see more interaction with these characters, not just Leonard and Sheldon (yes they live together I know), but the writing for these characters, especially the classroom scenes and their physics banter was very funny.

It's nice to see Sheldon back to his best, even though the writers make Jim Parsons say some outrageous lines. I know Sheldon shouldn't expect to get hit by a spit ball, but come on dear, he's so over the top. Even though Howard is not my favourite character, I liked how he stood up to Sheldon and questioned (tried) his intellect.

Amy.
I feel so so sorry for Amy, I know that's how Sheldon is, and he has greatly improved especially through the last season, but Amy so wants Sheldon, so just give her a hug, I guess the writers are a bit cautious, since its only episode 1&2, to introduce major 'Shamy' , or go over the top so its unrealistic for the characters progression and storyline, but for me, give me a hug at least. Although I did like Sheldon's eventual vulnerability in the car, saying how he didn't want her to know how we had failed, and Amy reassuring him (well you would think) that not everyone is perfect.
AND...
Collective  gasp from the whole audience-

Unfortunately just a test to see if Amy was giving them privacy, and how to shock an audience in one.

Penny- Nice to see a hopefully new mature Penny, what with her new job maybe we'll get to see another stronger side to her.

First introduction to the new season, bless you Sheldon...

Teasing the fans, aswell as Amy......

The Prom Equivalency

For those who have watched it I'm really glad this was written well. Keeping in mind their development through the series, the 'iloveyoutoo' scene was so beautiful and genuine to their characters. Sheldon was giving something back, for all the times we shout at the TV and hold on with Amy, she finally gets a moment of clarification just like she always wanted. Love to Mayim and Jim.
